Arie Glorie - Curatorial Assistant

I am an artist and curator who has lived in Melbourne for over a decade. I studied Fine art at RMIT University and graduated with an honour's degree in 2015. As an artist I’ve worked across drawing, installation, video, and performance, exhibiting in festivals, galleries and in a public art context for the past eight years. As a curator I’ve always been fascinated with experimenting with audience engagement. I also really enjoy working with artists to bring new ideas to fruition, producing a range of different development programs over the years. From 2016 - 2022 I was the Program Director and Curator of a temporary infrastructure project called Testing Grounds which brought art, performance, design, and education together in an urban design context. Now I am excited to be working at the Science Gallery 3 days per week, continuing to work in a space that encourages experimentation, risk taking and interdisciplinary practice. As well as this role I teach video art at RMIT and take on freelance work, projects and spend time in my studio.
