Matt Dau - STEAM Specialist in the Science Gallery Melbourne STEM Centre of Excellence

Pulling from a career trajectory that more closely resembles a scribble than a straight line, Matthew is an experienced learning specialist with a history spanning mining, engineering, community and aged care, and education, with a focus on training and development. First graduating with a Master of Architecture, and later a Master of Education, he focused much of his early career on student design-build projects, being recognised with the 2012 Australian Institute of Architects National Award for Small Project Architecture. Practicing more broadly across design and sustainability, Matthew has held positions at both Queensland University of Technology and University of Queensland, as well as developing a number of online training packages for commercial organisations and RTOs, and more recently taking a position with Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Sydney. This later appointment saw him fulfilling a dual role as a Technology Integrator and E-learning Specialist, as well as delivering the Technology and Applied Studies and Cambridge Computing Science Curriculums. Matthew brings a strong content background to his practice, as well as a passion for student engagement and science-based puns.
