Sarah Durcan announced as New Executive Director at Science Gallery International
The board of Science Gallery International (SGI) have announced the appointment of Sarah Durcan as the new Executive Director of SGI.

Sarah Durcan has worked in leadership roles with Science Gallery International since 2013, including Acting Executive for the last eight months. She is a former Executive Producer of award-winning Irish theatre company, Corn Exchange, General Manager of Dublin Theatre Festival and General Manager of Dublin Fringe Festival, as well as serving on the boards of The Abbey Theatre and Theatre Forum. Sarah has been integral to the development of the Science Gallery network, most recently confirming the newest member, Science Gallery Monterrey at TEC Monterrey and working on plans to reopen Science Gallery Dublin with Trinity College Dublin.
Commenting on the appointment, Rose Hiscock, Chair of SGI and Director of Museums and Collections at the University of Melbourne said,

With eight members worldwide and a common vision for youth-led programming, the Science Gallery Network is in a position to drive impactful change. Drawing on her knowledge of Science Gallery and experience in the international cultural sector, Sarah will collaborate with the gallery Directors and Board to shape our network into the future.
To assist in the process of renewal, I’m delighted to announce two new members to the Science Gallery International Board: Dr Jahnavi Phalkey and Dr Terry Wu. Terry and Jahnavi bring exceptional skills across the arts and sciences and reflect the global nature of Science Gallery.”

The Science Gallery Network is an international collaboration of leading universities dedicated to public engagement through interdisciplinary art-science initiatives. The Network seeks to lead global conversations with young people at the heart.
Science Gallery International is the non-profit organisation based in Dublin that drives the growth and global agenda of the network. The Science Gallery Network currently has locations in Atlanta, Bengaluru, Berlin, Dublin, London, Melbourne, Rotterdam and Monterrey.
Durcan replaces outgoing Executive Director, Dr Andrea Bandelli, and commences in the role this week.
