Statement: King’s College London & Science Gallery International
King's College London and Science Gallery International confirm the closure of Science Gallery London later in 2026.
When Science Gallery London opened in September 2018 — in a transformed building at the heart of one of London's most historic medical campuses — it represented a bold ambition: to bring university research and public imagination into genuine, creative conversation. Over the eight years that followed, that ambition was realised in ways that have positively impacted the many researchers, students, young people, local communities, artists, and partners who have collaborated with Science Gallery London.
The closure of Science Gallery London reflects a refocusing of institutional resources towards education, research and innovation priorities as part of its Strategy 2030.
King’s College London holds Science Gallery International and its global community of members in high esteem and remains open to future collaboration with the network.
All current Science Gallery London programming will continue through to the end of the 2025–26 academic year, concluding with The Art of Care: Through the Eyes of Tomorrow’s Doctors, which opens to the public on 22 June 2026.
