PODCAST: The stories of LGBTQ people who work in museums, galleries, and public engagement
To mark LGBT History Month this February, audio producers Maurice and Shaun have teamed up with the Queering Museums initiative to create a podcast series with LGBTQ people who work in museums, galleries, and public engagement.
Episode three of the Queering Museums Podcast focuses on science engagement and science centres. In this episode, we hear from our very own Andrea, Sarah and Katrina about their experiences and perspectives on being LGBTQ in the museum sector.
Listen to their fascinating chats below:
And check out the video of RED ALERT: HIV, the ground-breaking event that Andrea mentions during the episode. RED ALERT: HIV discussed HIV from a social and cultural point of view, rather than a medical viewpoint, at Science Gallery Dublin during the BLOOD exhibition:
RED ALERT: HIV was hosted by Dil Wickremasinghe, presenter of Global Village on Newstalk, with special guests Leo Schenk, Editor in chief at hello gorgeous, and founder of Poz&Proud, and LGBT activist and journalist, Tonie Walsh.
